Catamenia es una banda de Black Metal melódico fundada en 1995 en Oulu, Finlandia. Claramente influenciada por el viking y el folk metal, su estilo es simple, pegadizo y con un gran toque épico. Su magistral mezcla de melodias memorables y agresión extrema es practicamente única en el género. Fue fundada en 1995 por los miembros originales Riku Hopeakoski y Mika Tönning en Oulu, Finlandia. Ellos lanzaron su primer álbum demo en su primer año activo. Su segundo demo, Winds de 1996, llevó a una contratación de 4 álbumes con Massacre Records en 1997. Su primer álbum de larga duración, Halls of Frozen North fue grabado en Commusication Studios, Alemania, en 1997 con Gerhard Magin (Crematory, Mystic Circle) y fue lanzado en 1998.

Amorphis es una banda originaria de Helsinki, Finlandia. Su primera formación data de 1990, el estilo que profesaban por aquel entonces era un Death Metal bien marcado, pero con el pasar de los años y los cambios de integrantes fueron orientándose hacia un Metal más abierto con tendencias por momentos Doom o Góticas y algunos toques progresivos. Actualmente se caracterizan por el uso de voces limpias, mezcladas con voces guturales probablemente relacionadas con sus raíces antes mencionadas (principalmente Doom/Death), elegantes y bellos arreglos de teclado junto con increíbles climas y guitarras poderosas. Su discografía cuenta con nueve discos de estudio: The Karelian Isthmus(1992); Tales from the Thousand Lakes(1994); Elegy(1996); Tuonela(1999); Am Universum(2001); Far from the Sun(2003); Eclipse(2006); Silent Waters(2007) y Skyforger(2009).
Son sin lugar a dudas un pilar importante dentro del metal europeo y una banda muy recomendable, que aun se mantiene en actividad y con mucha fuerza dentro de la escena.
En este disco Amorphis deja casi de lado las voces guturales. Fue editado en 1999 por el sello Relapse Records.

Amorphis es una banda de metal finlandesa creada por Jan Rechberger y Esa Holopainen en 1990. Inicialmente fue una banda death metal, luego marcó estilo con dos discos de tendencia doom metal (Tales from the Thousand Lakes y Elegy), pero con el tiempo evolucionó a un estilo musical más general, destacando por la complejidad en sus arreglos.
